Release Notes: Version 5.33 (December 2025)

This document outlines the new features, system enhancements, and bug fixes included in the December 2025 release (v5.33).

New Features

Proactive Device Monitoring

A new alert system has been introduced to monitor the connectivity status of Time & Attendance terminals. The system can now send email notifications to designated recipients if a device stops communicating for a defined period.

• Scope: This feature supports Synergy A, Synergy Face, Synergy Touch (SY 5/10, SY 910), and legacy devices.
• Configuration: Settings are located under System Setup > Devices > Monitoring Configuration.

Available Settings:

• Healthy connection threshold (%): Defines the required success rate of heartbeat attempts for a device to be considered stable.
• Device offline threshold (min): Defines the duration a device must be silent before an alert is triggered (Default: 15 minutes).

Integrations

Salto Space (On-Premise)

Integration between Synel Workforce (SWF) and Salto Space on-premise solutions is now supported. This integration covers two key use cases:

• New Installations: Full support for Salto Space hardware using Salto Cards.
• Hybrid Installations: Support for Salto Space hardware using third-party cards.

Suprema CoreStation (CS-20)

Support has been added for the Suprema CoreStation CS-20. This hardware serves as a modern substitute for the legacy SY-400 solution, utilizing RS-485 and Wiegand protocols for access control.

System Enhancements

Fiscal & Leave Year Alignment

Functionality has been added to align the Company Fiscal Start Date with the Annual Leave Cycle Start Date. The system will pre-populate the leave cycle start date based on the fiscal year setting. This date can be manually overwritten if company policy requires a different leave cycle.

Daily Browser: Job Role Filter

A new filter option has been added to the Daily Browser allowing users to filter employees by Job Role. This assists in managing exceptions for specific employee groups without relying on Department or Cost Centre filters.

Device Credential Management

The Barcode and QR identifier generation functionality has been moved from the Reports section to the Devices and Activities settings screens. This change places credential generation within the relevant configuration context.

Accrual Balance Exports

Users can now export Accrual Balance views directly to PDF and Excel formats for offline record-keeping.

Platform API

A new Users Endpoint has been added to the Platform API to allow for granular programmatic management of user data external to the main interface.

Usability Improvements

• Tracking Screen: The Tracking/Accrual Balance screen can now be sorted by Surname.
• Leaver Tab: Enhanced User Experience (UX) for the Leaver tab interface.
• Events Filter: The "Readers" filter in the Events screen now sorts alphabetically.
• Virtual Clocking: Display text updated to clearly indicate when an employee is not enabled for Virtual Clocking.
• Absence Groups: Improved visibility of the Absence Groups icon in the UI.
• Notifications: Added absence notifications for employees who do not have a user login.

Deprecations

Mobile App Permissions

Duplicated document permission functionality for the mobile app has been deprecated. Permissions are now consolidated to ensure a single source of truth and simplify configuration.

Bug Fixes

The following issues have been resolved in this release:

• Mobile App Stability: Addressed performance findings and stability issues in the latest Mobile App package (20251110.apk).
• Reactivated Employee Calendars: Resolved an issue where calendars were not automatically created when an employee was reactivated from a "Leaver" state.
• Absence Authorization: Fixed an error where employees without a user login encountered an error page when accessing absence request links.
• Absence Balances: Fixed a bug where future-dated absences were not being correctly counted towards the balance in Tracking and Detailed Reports.
• Device Health Check: Fixed an issue where "One-time" frequency notifications were not sending when a device changed status.
• Accrual Balance Display: Fixed incorrect text displaying in the details pop-up when an Accrual Balance was 0.
• Adjustments Report: Resolved an issue where the "Total" field was not calculating correctly.
• Antivirus Notifications: Fixed a bug preventing antivirus scan email notifications from sending.
• Geolocation Tracking: "IN" and "OUT" labels are now correctly visible in the Action column.
• Visitor Management: Fixed an issue where pre-registered visitors could not sign in via QR code on the VM App.
