The document outlines how rounding rules affect hours calculation. In short, hours can be rounded upwards or downwards for swipes based on rules defined per daily template.

SWF – Synergy Work Force
Go to Work rules > Daily Templates > Add / Edit Daily template. There are 2 sets of settings related to rounding shown on screenshots below.
Important note: users should use either entry/exit exceptions for or rounding policy. Using both will result in double calculation of rounded time and confusing gross and net hours calculated like shown bellow
For all further examples, the daily template with the following rules will be used:
The rest of the settings were omitted for this example to simply hours calculation and make examples clear.
Entry exception affects calculation of Net hours when employee comes later than specified in daily template. Depending on exception type (Absolute or Relative) calculation will be adjusted accordingly.
The calculation will be applied for first IN and second IN (if present) for regular daily templates. The calculation will be applied for first IN only for daily template with 6 pair of swipes.
Given the following setup:
When an employee is late and between 08:00 and 08:09, then net hours are calculated as if the employee comes on time.
When an employee comes at 08:10 or later, then net hours are calculated based on exact time employee come in.
Given the following setup:
When an employee is late and between 08:00 and 08:10, then net hours are calculated as if the employee comes on time.
When an employee comes at 08:11 or later, then net hours are calculated based on exact time employee come in + minutes defined for the exception.
Exit exception affects calculation of Net hours when employee leaves earlier than specified in daily template. Depending on exception type (Absolute or Relative) calculation will be adjusted accordingly.
The calculation will be applied for first OUT and second OUT (if present) for regular daily templates. The calculation will be applied for last OUT only for daily template with 6 pair of swipes.
Given the following setup:
When an employee leaves early between 16:51 and 17:00, then net hours are calculated as if the employee leaves on time.
When an employee leaves at 16:50 or earlier, then net hours are calculated based on the exact time employee leaves out.
Given the following setup:
When an employee leaves early between 16:50 and 17:00, then net hours are calculated as if the employee leaves on time.
When an employee leaves at 16:49 or earlier, then net hours are calculated based on exact time employee leaves out + minutes defined for the exception.
The rounding policy will be applied for each of 2 pairs of swipes for regular daily templates directly matching the IN/OUT swipe. However, only the last OUT will be rounded according to the rules for daily template with 6 pairs of swipes.
The rules defined below before will be applied if an employee swiped IN/OUT before scheduled time. The rules defined below after will be applied if an employee swiped IN/OUT after scheduled time.
Given the following rounding policy settings:
Values below all IN and OUT correspond to interval for rounding. Values below all Cut-off correspond to cut-off point for rounding upwards or downwards will be applied.
When an employee comes before the scheduled time between 07:50-07:55, then IN time will be rounded downwards to 07:50
When an employee comes before the scheduled time between 07:56-08:00, then IN time will be rounded upwards to 08:00
This rule will be applied to every 10 minutes interval, i.e.:
When an employee comes after the scheduled time between 08:01-08:10, then IN time will be rounded downwards to 08:00
When an employee comes after the scheduled time between 08:11-08:15, then IN time will be rounded upwards to 08:15
This rule will be applied to every 15 minutes interval, i.e.:
When an employee leaves before the scheduled time between 16:56-17:00, then OUT time will be rounded upwards to 17:00
When an employee leaves before the scheduled time between 16:50-16:55, then OUT time will be rounded downwards to 16:50
This rule will be applied to every 10 minutes interval, i.e.:
When an employee leaves after the scheduled time between 17:01-17:10, then OUT time will be rounded downwards to 17:00
When an employee leaves after the scheduled time between 17:11-17:15, then OUT time will be rounded upwards to 17:15
This rule will be applied to every 15 minutes interval, i.e.:
